What do you know about TXWG History? I can't seem to find any information. If you have a website with information that would be appreciated.

Only thing I know is that there was a Squadron #42251 in Baytown operating out of a quansit hut on the south end of the runway of the Baytown airport. As I recall there was about 12 active cadets and maybe 2 SMs.

The original post did say TXWG HISTORY. Silly me thought old squadron activity might be part of the history of the wing.

When I went to my basic (summer '06) there was a class on CAP history, including TXWG history...so look for that next week!

This is one were are going to have to write from scratch.

I am an Historian, however, much of the info on Wing History is lost to time or locked in old Archives and Newspapers. Out best bet to start with is to try to document our own Units first.

There are a few places we can start locally. I will be working on this.

I smell a good Project for 2008.

Sounds good. For those who want to help, check out some of the following:
- Long-time unit members.
- Former long-time unit members
- Unit scrapbooks
- Unit records (with permission)
- Local/regional newspaper archives
- Old CAP/TXWG newspapers
- Local airports
- ???
Lets keep this going and get others excited about it as well. I could see a "History of TXWG" book in the future. TUp2
