I was the head paper pusher (read: administrative mentor) for the encampment. Granted, I hadn't been to an encampment since my days as a cadet 30 years ago, but it was a learning experience. One thing for sure... we probably won't be going to Camp Swift Area 2 again. (Our winter encampments are usually at Area 1, but it was being used by the Marines this year.)

I heard that it was being used by the Marines. I didn't really care for our area, the barracks were especially horrible...

Poor Troy... Lets see. I enjoyed every minute of it. Some times were hard(like standing at by the ripples for 30 min),but others were not so bad(lets say devo, lol). No, it vas tough, but I would do it again. Most people were dying to go home, but I could of stayed for weeks. I made so many friends and met so many people on theses forums. I would say my favorite part of encampment was the early morning formations(sorry, I actually liked those). Pretty much, the only thing that was bad, was our disastrous tug-of-war game when november flight stepped in. The rope snapped in half and sent 8(I believe it was) people to the hospital. The rest of us just got sore bottoms, lol.

So, I plan on trying to go this year in the winter again on staff and I hope to see ALL of you around again!! Salute
